Wild Turkey
No other game bird has had more of an impact on the inhabitants of North America than the wild turkey. The Wild Turkey (Meleagris gallapavo), often referred to as the “King of the Game Birds”, has directly influenced the life styles of the Native Americans, the European Settlers and their descendants. In the early 1900’s, the wild turkey population was exploited to very low numbers but has made a remarkable come back. Each year many hunters are drawn to the spring woods for a chance to hear gobbles from the roost, to see spectacular strutting displays, and to harvest a majestic trophy gobbler.
The staff at Blackridge Land Co. shares that same desire and love for the wild turkey, the turkey hunt and the turkey woods. Let us assist you with your turkey management and habitat activities.
