Why not take advantage of Alabama’s February Squirrel Season?
While deer hunting may get the most attention in Alabama, I don’t think there is a better way to introduce a young person to hunting and the outdoors than a good old fashioned squirrel hunt. Now that deer season has come to a close in most of the state (the season is open until February 10 in some areas of southwestern Alabama), the woods are quieter and still teaming with “bushy-tails.”
Squirrel hunting is an excellent way to introduce and practice hunting and firearm safety, woodsman-ship, and marksmanship — take a kid squirrel hunting this February and I bet you both will be glad you did!
